Dubai may have one of the most environmentally friendly tram systems in the world. It is planned that it will pass through Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road and will include 25 stations on 64 kilometres of track, along which more than a million trees will be planted.
The trams will be solar-powered and state-of-the-art drainage systems will be installed to prevent water accumulation to ensure safety in all weathers.
The project will also include bicycle and jogging paths, urban farms, parks and sports areas. The expected construction cost is $10 billion.
